The Laderchis at Faenza

The importance of the Laderchi family did not pass away with the turning of the years; their members proved their vitality, always being found at the center of main events, both as citizens of the Region and as that which will become clear when, while only summarily described, we consider the lives of some of their members. The City of Faenza was habituated to seeing them at the center of every issue regarding the city, and while some family branches have become extinct, among these some of the principal branches,  other branches, legitimate descendants of the Founder, formed a preeminent part of the city’s history; certainly the populace, who always saw this family at the head of community matters, who saw sovereigns coming to assist in their solemnities, became used to considering as the “reigning elite” of their city, and perhaps this explains the notable duration of favor the Laderchi family enjoyed.

This also explains why the Palazzo Laderchi had all the characteristics of a royal palace: locations, grandiosity of locality, the beauty of the internal decorations and how, for those who desired it, such as the counts Ludovico 10/III and Achille Laderchi, in 1789, it imparted an intense sense of the prerogative that a distant, hard-working and honest descendant, would have known he deserved.
